Planning on having a wedding cake at your reception? Yep. Are you having a cookie table, too? ABSOLUTELY!!! It is astounding how much work goes into making 2,000+ cookies for a wedding. Traditionally, mothers, aunts, grandmas, and friends band together to accomplish this delicious feat. The results are SO SWEET. (see what I did there? ha!)

This cookie table was one of the most impressive that I’ve ever seen here in Pittsburgh. There were mountains of cookies on this table. I think I can recall the bride telling me that there were tons more in boxes behind the scenes, ready to be put out for cookie-hungry guests!

ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL WEDDING IN PITTSBURGH

Getting married at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Pittsburgh? Get ready for some awesome photos! The Gothic architecture of this amazing church is the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony.

I was second shooting this wedding for my friend, Katia. I was up in the choir loft talking to the organist, Don Fellows, while he was playing (asking permission if I could take his photo). I don’t recommend talking to organists while they play at weddings (because they need to concentrate), but I’ve noticed that it is a very special talent that most organists possess. I guess it takes years of practice learning to play and talk at the same time! HAHAHA! By the way, Don was cool with me photographing him…..I used to see him often when I played weddings at St. Paul’s with my trio. Now, I see him at weddings in a totally different capacity!

I love photographing the guests watching the bride walk down the aisle!

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on flowers, then you’re in luck. You don’t need to class up this joint! This bride had beautiful arrangements on the altar at her ceremony….
